Baldness is one of the many signs of aging that particularly bothers men, as there seems to be an unspoken tie between a healthy mane and one’s masculinity. Most baldness in men is a result of progressive male pattern baldness, which can begin to manifest itself as early as the teens, but typically begins to appear in the 20s and 30s.
However, it’s not just men that experience this predicament. Nearly 40% of the people suffering from hair loss in the US are women. The primary difference is that whereas a man’s baldness is usually a progression from a receding hair line up to total loss, women more typically see an overall thinning, particularly on the crown of the head. This is extremely difficult to mask without wearing a wig.

As you can imagine, this can be traumatic for a woman, as her coiffure often may be the centerpiece of her femininity and style. Hence, the psychological impact of baldness to a woman can be even greater than to a man.

So it’s no wonder that a great deal of money and effort has been dedicated to the efforts to slow, stop, cure or hide hair loss in both men and women. There have been a great number of treatments, remedies and cures proclaimed over the years, some of which were be baseless or even damaging. Here are a few of the most commonly known approaches that still survive, however:

Treatments – These can include many different compounds but the two most commonly recognized are Propecia® (finasteride) and Rogaine® (minoxidil). Propecia® is taken internally, and must not be used by women that are pregnant or may become pregnant, as birth defects may result. Rogaine® is a topically applied medication that can be used by both men and women. However, while both can slow or stop balding, they will not create new growth;

Toupees – Sometimes fashioned from synthetic fiber, sometimes from human hair, these were often referred to as “rugs”, as they were basically just a small mat that covered the bald spot. While they usually served to hide the offending patch of bare scalp, the quality was often inadequate to do so without being obvious;

Wigs – These are nearly always a complete hairpiece, covering the entire scalp and the wearer’s own remaining hair. Also available in synthetic fiber or human hair, the effect is usually more natural appearing. The novelty was that one could change not only the style but the color as well;

Comb-overs – These are attempts to mask the problem and often range between marginally effective and well… less than flattering. The hair on one side the head is allowed to grow longer and is then combed over to the opposite side, covering the denuded area of the scalp;

Spray-on product – This “solution” was an invention of Ron Popeil, a renowned marketer since the 1950s. Essentially, the spray on solution consists of fibers that stick to existing hair, filling out the bald area, hopefully in a color and texture similar to the surrounding locks. Results are not impressive, unless one makes it a habit to greet people from across a room. A large room;

Plugs – This was the first popularized method of hair transplant in the US, wherein 2-4mm plugs of multiple follicles are transplanted into the scalp. The downside was the “doll’s head” effect, with the new hair sprouting in a grid pattern that was fairly obvious;

Follicular unit transplantation – In this technique, harvested follicles are relocated from the donor area, separated into individual units and implanted into tiny incisions, at an angle consistent with normal growth. The results look natural and are virtually undetectable and relatively inexpensive.

As you can see, there is only one of these methods that is safe, effective and virtually undetectable: follicular unit transplantation. Let’s explore how that is accomplished:
How are modern hair transplants performed?

First, follicles are harvested from the patient’s own body via FUE (follicular unit extraction). Typically, a small strip of hair is removed from an area that will be invisible, and the meticulous task of separating them into individual units begins. When enough have been separated to satisfy the needs of the target area, the implantation procedure can begin.

Tiny incisions are made in the target area tissue and each follicle is implanted at an angle that is consistent with normal growth in that area, so as to make the new growth totally natural. These incisions are made extremely close to each other, allowing the implantation of over 50 such grafts per square centimeter (more than 322 per square inch).

The process can take a few hours, depending upon the size of the area to receive the grafts. The procedure is performed under local anesthetic, with patients reading, watching TV or even napping. There is very little discomfort, and the person can return to work the next day, with nothing more than some possible redness in the area, which will clear up in just a few days.
Since the transplanted units are from the patient’s own body, there is no risk of rejection. The success rate of this method is extremely high and the recipients are always amazed at the totally natural appearance of their new-found locks.

Obviously, the hair will take some time to grow out to length, as the transplanted units are extremely tiny. However, as an added advantage of this option over the others listed above, once this procedure is behind you, so is the hair loss issue. The new mane will be growing for the rest of the patient’s life. No more expensive prescription medications, no more replacement wigs and no more embarrassing episodes, avoiding of swimming pools or sporting a hat indoors.

This state-of-the-art hair transplant technique is not only the most effective and undetectable method there is, it’s also the most cost-effective. One’s only recurring cost will be more frequent trips to the barber.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons has announced that there has been an overall increase in patients opting for non-invasive procedures. Surgeries like breast augmentations and tummy tucks remain popular, but procedures that do not involve going “under the knife” are rapidly gaining in popularity. In cosmetic surgery, non-invasive procedures are typically performed via injection or laser. The reason for the shift is due to many factors.

1. Secrecy
You have two choices with cosmetic surgery. You can hide away on a deserted island while healing, which, although ideal, is not always practical. Your second option is that someone you know will see you in the healing process with a bruise, a bandage or some other tell-tale sign. Maybe you are open and don’t mind who knows what you had “done”. Maybe you want it to be private. One thing is for sure, there is no secrecy.

On the other hand, non-invasive procedures are pretty hard to pinpoint. Your friends may notice something unusual, but will not be able to say exactly what’s different about you. That’s the goal, right? To let everyone think you are well-rested or maybe lost weight. Let them assume that your youthful appearance is due to good, healthy living without any help from the medical community. It is a great reason to choose a more discrete and non-invasive procedure.

2. Speedy Recovery
Since most of us do not have time to recuperate in style at a resort on a tropical island. The idea that you can schedule a non-invasive procedure on a Friday afternoon and no one will be the wiser when you return to work on Mondayis extremely appealing. In fact, the convenience factor is huge when comparing non-invasive procedures to standard cosmetic surgeries.

Checking into a hospital or surgical center coupled with a lengthy and bruised recovery can be a turn off. A quick Botox on one’s lunch hour, however, has wide-spread appeal for both men and women. A laser treatment on your day off is always a better use of your time than taking several vacation days to recuperate from a physically exhausting surgical procedure. Plus, you don’t have to con anyone into driving you there and sitting in the waiting room.

3. Safety
Any cosmetic surgery has inherent risks (walking down the street has risks, too). The biggest potential issue is with the use of general anesthesia. It is used to put people “to sleep” during surgery. It’s a blessing to modern medicine but anesthesia is a powerful sedative. It can cause severe and adverse reactions in some patients. Extra waivers are signed just for its use. Instead, many patients are opting for simple, in-office procedures that are non-invasive and do not use general anesthesia are considerably safer.

So, which procedures are non-invasive, and do not require general anesthesia?

Hair Transplants – most people automatically think of men, but women can suffer from hair loss as well. Not only that, hair transplants can be used to fill in any area where you want hair to grow, for example a sparse eyebrow

Botox – this simple, in-office injection can erase the fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead as well as laugh lines around the eyes and mouth

Skin Resurfacing – light chemical peels, deep chemical peels, lasers and dermabrasion are all tools in the doctor’s arsenal to improve the overall appearance of one’s skin.

Laser Hair Removal – everyone has unwanted hair, whether facial, legs or elsewhere. It can be removed safely and quickly, right in your doctor’s office.

Cosmetic Fillers–synthetic compounds are injected into the skin to “plump up” wrinkles quickly and painlessly.

All of the above require nothing more than a small shot or topical application to numb the surrounding area. In fact, many of these procedures are painless and are completed in less than ten minutes. Every patient’s experience is different. Many report feeling nothing, or simply the sensation of a snapping rubber band.

4. The Economy
You’ve certainly noticed that we’ve been in a bit of a rough economy lately. Whether you want to call it an economic downturn or a full-on recession, it is having an effect on cosmetic surgery and is one of the reasons for the increase in non-invasive procedures. Why? Simply put, they cost less. Health insurance does not generally cover cosmetic procedures; they are considered elective. Many people need to save up for a procedure and, when the economy is tight, they may feel more comfortable setting that money aside for other needs.

Non-invasive procedures, however, are much less expensive. The results of 10 minutes of Botox can make a patient just as happy as a face lift, but for much less money. Perhaps that patient will get her facelift once the economy shows signs of improving; perhaps she will continue with her Botox treatments. The answer is unclear, but non-invasive procedures are a great, inexpensive solution in a tough economy. In fact, the budget-conscious may decide to make little changes every few months to make their eventual outcome more affordable.

5. Availability
Many of the non-invasive procedures have either come onto the market or gained in popularity in recent years. They simply weren’t available or widely-known enough before. In fact, Botox was only introduced in 1989 and the first cosmetic filler hit the market in 1996. They’re like the babies of the cosmetic surgery industry, especially when you consider the first facelift was performed at the turn of the LAST century.

These non-invasive procedures are rapidly gaining acceptance, however, as the popular plastic surgeries decline in numbers. A 2008 report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons shows that many surgical procedures were declined while their non-invasive counterparts increased in popularity. Breast augmentations were down 12%, liposuction was down 19%, tummy tucks down a whopping 18% and eyelid surgery was down 8%. On the other hand, during the same time period, non-invasive procedures rose in popularity. Botox was up 8%, cosmetic fillers 6% and chemical peels 2%.

6. Quality Results
The results of many non-invasive procedures are just as stunning as their surgical counterparts. A natural, more youthful appearance is usually the desired result of any procedure. Whether you want to erase that frown line on your forehead or just add a little extra hair up there, non-invasive procedures can provide wonderful results.

In fact, it seems only logical that anyone interested in looking better would investigate all their options, both surgical and non-surgical. Surgical procedures have the risk of general anesthesia as well as a lengthy, heavily bruised recovery. On the other hand, non-invasive procedures require much less risk, no general anesthesia, and can be performed in as little as 10 minutes. Many times you can even return to work and no one will be the wiser unless you want them to be. The idea of achieving comparable results for less money, less downtime and less risk is appealing on so many levels to so many people. This has led, of course, to the rise in popularity of many non-invasive, cosmetic procedures and their selection over more traditional ones. Only time will tell if this trend continues.

Age sneaks up on most of us. There we are, minding our own business and not giving a thought to wrinkles, when one morning we see them: a few tiny lines around the eyes. They’re usually followed by deeper lines around the eyes and perhaps some wrinkles on the forehead, between the brows, and the sides of the mouth thrown in for good measure.

After a lifetime of seeing a young person in the mirror, suddenly signs of aging are all you notice. Some people simply choose to live with this new reality. Others opt to do something about it through surgery. Still more are eager for a more youthful appearance but shy away from the thought of an invasive facelift. One solution is a liquid facelift, which combines the ease of a non-invasive procedure with the younger looking skin we all want back.

Plump Makes a Comeback

Liquid Face Lift Before and After

Traditional facelifts can be very effective, but they also involve a lot of recovery time, a significant monetary investment, and serious risks in the form of general anesthesia and infection. The liquid facelift procedure was developed to solve all of these issues while still delivering serious results. This “best of both worlds” aspect is the reason Dr. Peers believes in the procedure and recommends it to patients who want to lose the lines.

A liquid facelift uses a combination of dermal fillers, collagen replacers, skin resurfacing and Botox to smooth wrinkles and plump up facial features. While traditional facelifts focus on pulling and tightening, the plumping effect of a liquid facelift can make a world of difference in your skin’s appearance without the stretched look.

Losing fat seems like a good thing, but loss of facial fat makes skin look old. Think about a balloon. It’s smooth and supple when filled with air, but when it loses that air, the balloon shrivels up. The same is true for our skin: Fullness equals a smooth, beautiful appearance. And because fat loss is pretty much a fact of life as we age, one of the best ways to turn back the hands of time is to re-introduce fullness with dermal fillers and collagen replacers.

Liquid Facelift Tools

Skin resurfacing is typically the starting point for a liquid facelift. Using laser technology, Dr. Peers can smooth away sun damage, lines, scars, uneven skin tones, and other signs of aging. This softer, more even foundation paves the way for the magic to come.

Botox is probably the best known doctor-injected wrinkle smoother, and this powerhouse is commonly used as part of a liquid facelift. It works by preventing nerves from signaling facial muscles to contact. Without contraction, the muscles relax, and the overlying skin looks smoother. It’s great for areas where fillers aren’t recommended.

While Botox and resurfacing are important elements in a successful liquid facelift, dermal fillers and collagen replacers are the stars of the show. There are many effective fillers on the market today—such as Radiesse and Juvederm—which is why it’s essential to seek out a doctor with Dr. Peers’ expertise who will take the time to tailor these products, giving each patient the best possible results. These fillers, in combination with Sculptra, a relatively new entry to world of aesthetics, helps recreate the plumpness associated with young skin.

The Sculptra Difference

The latest addition to Dr. Peers’ liquid facelift bag of tricks is Sculptra, a collagen replacer. What separates Sculptra from other injectibles is that it produces results more gradually (and more naturally!) and can last much longer. It’s made from a bio-compatible material that, over time, helps replace collagen you’ve lost through the years. Safety is always a concern, which is why it’s reassuring to note that while Sculptra is new to the market, its main component (poly-L-lactic acid) has been used by the medical community for decades in dissolvable stitches.

No one wants to look like they’ve “had work done.” We simply want people to think we look fantastic and wonder how it’s possible to maintain such a youthful appearance. Dr. Peers added Sculptra to his anti-aging arsenal because it complements the other liquid facelift products and actually helps produce the desired effect of growing younger over time—without the sudden, obvious signs of plastic surgery.

Sculptra is the ideal final component to a liquid facelift because it counterbalances traditional fillers and Botox. While traditional fillers give patients immediate gratification and typically last a few months to a year, Sculptra works over a period of months to replace collagen and can last up to two years. That’s a lot of bang for your anti-aging buck!

Get the Facts

Each product used in liquid facelifts has been proven incredibly safe; Sculptra, for example, is so natural it doesn’t even require an allergy test. And millions of people already know the products are effective as well. But getting smooth, plump, younger looking skin the safe way starts with finding the right professional. Patients should only consult licensed physicians—and preferably cosmetic surgeons like Dr. Peers who perform liquid facelifts every day and specialize in helping men and women look their best.

One way to know you’ve found a good doctor is if he or she takes the time to assess whether a liquid facelift is right for you. Dr. Peers ensures that his patients understand the extensive benefits of a liquid facelift but also that it doesn’t deliver the exact results of a traditional facelift. He also examines each patient to determine whether their skin texture, skin elasticity, and lifestyle factors are compatible with a liquid facelift.

The Bottom Line

A quick, low-risk solution to aging skin? It sounds too good to be true. In this case, however, the truth lives up to the hype. Once Dr. Peers assesses your unique features and develops a plan of action, a liquid facelift doesn’t require much time and, even better, results in almost no social downtime. Even patients who opt for several Sculptra injections will spend only minutes in the doctor’s office at each visit. Compare that to a traditional facelift, where patients have to check into a hospital or clinic and then go into hiding for days or weeks afterward.

One of the best things about liquid facelifts is that they aren’t designed to last forever. This means that you, along with Dr. Peers, can tweak any aspect of the procedure in the future to get a spectacular, perfectly customized look. The bottom line is that liquid facelifts are a less expensive, less dangerous, less intimidating way to get noticeably younger looking skin. And with the exciting new Sculptra option, it’s better than ever!

Sorry, ladies – it’s time to put away that crimson lipstick you’ve been rocking all fall and winter. Same goes for those deep, dark shades of nail polish. Go ahead and keep the black liner, though. You never know when that might come in handy.

Warmer weather is on the way, and nothing announces the return of spring quite like fresh new beauty trends. The grass is green, the sun is bright, and your makeup bag is overflowing with fun new shades of lip gloss and eye shadow. Life just doesn’t get any better than this, right?

As you’re packing away your colorful scarves and chunky sweaters, take a minute to think about which hot spring trends you want to try this year. Don’t worry if you haven’t had time to flip through any beauty mags lately – we’ve got the scoop on all of spring’s best beauty trends below. Fuchsia lipstick, nautical nails, metallic eyes…this is going to be one beautiful season. Just promise us one little thing: don’t try all the trends at once.

BRIGHT COLORS

Lea Michele in Fuschia

Beige shadow, brown eyeliner, and muted pink lipstick are so last season. This spring, it’s all about color. Fuchsia is the new red when it comes to sexy lips, and surprisingly enough, nearly any complexion can pull off this funky shade. If you want your lips to look extra bright, smooth on a light shade of concealer before applying your lipstick or gloss. Fuchsia isn’t very forgiving when it comes to application errors, so make sure you apply it in a brightly lit area with a large mirror – forget about attempting last-minute coats of this trendy shade on the bus or train.

Lips aren’t the only thing begging for an explosion of color this season. Experiment with fun shades of shadow like mint green, tropical blue, light purple, and even hot pink. Be careful with the pink, though – it doesn’t flatter every complexion. Hot pink looks best on fair skin and women of color. Don’t forget to finish your trendy eye look with a coat of rich black mascara and a few swipes of a colorful liner. Electric blue flatters nearly every complexion and eye color.

TEXTURE

Tired of flat ironing your hair until it’s perfectly sleek and smooth? Good, because you don’t have to anymore. Messy hair is where it’s at, so feel free to sleep in this season. Tousled tresses take on any number of forms, ranging from slight waves (think beach hair) to full-blown bedhead. Helpful hint: skip the bedhead look if you have a conservative boss.

Texture doesn’t stop with your hair, though. Lovely ladies everywhere are trying out the crinkled nail look – and yes, it’s simple enough that you can do it at home. Chunky glitter is still acceptable, too. Texture even finds its way on eyelids this season, so don’t forget to try layered shadow looks and sparkling swipes of glitter. Bold women might even want to experiment with feathers and tiny chunks of animal print fur on their lids and lashes.

NAUTICAL

Have you ever had the chance to spend a gorgeous spring day on the water on a yacht or boat with the breeze gently blowing your hair and the sun beating down upon your skin? Even if you haven’t, you might still appreciate the nautical look that’s finding a home on the faces, hair, and nails of women of all ages this season.

Nails have been affected the most by this trend, so expect to see plenty of navy blue and white, with a touch of red, on toes and fingers. This look works best on short, square nails, but longer nails can also pull it off.

Hair is fuss-free and low-maintenance, so again, skip the flat iron. Go for loose waves or a perky ponytail, sailor hat optional. As for color, ask your stylist for highlights in the places where the sun normally hits your hair. You can go totally blonde if you want, but now isn’t the time to bathe your locks in bleach – opt for a dirty dishwater blonde or other tamer shades.

Makeup is fairly natural with the nautical look, but not bare-faced natural. Use plenty of bronzer on your face, arms, and upper chest. Don’t forget to run the brush across your ears, too, if you’ll be pulling back your hair. Finish with plenty of clear gloss, shimmery gold or beige shadow, and black mascara. If you feel like you need a bit more definition and color, try a smoky gray or navy blue shadow and mascara.

DRAMATIC MAKEUP

Double Wing Eyeliner

Assuming you’ve been paying attention so far, you already know that fuchsia lipstick and bold eye shadow colors are totally hot this spring. Red lipstick is also still hot, but make sure you use a bright red rather than a crimson or burgundy. Oh, and funky colors like baby blue and lime green aren’t just for Halloween – they’ve been spotted on the lips of a few runway models and one or two in-the-know fashionistas.

Remember when we told you to hold on to your black eyeliner earlier? Now’s the time to use it! You’re probably already familiar with winged eyeliner. Well, fashion magazines everywhere are raving about a twist on the familiar classic: double wings. Simply take your black liner, draw a line that extends partly beyond the edge of your eye (the side closer to your ears, not your nose), and draw another line above or below it. Super cool.

Metallics are another trend you can expect to see a lot of this spring. Once reserved for cooler weather, these shades are showing up in full force across the nation. If you’re sitting there thinking, “Oh, I’ve got this covered, you should see my shimmery gold shadow”, think again. Shimmery gold shadow is a classic that never really goes out of style, but this season is all about strong metallic shades. Think aluminum foil silver, not shimmery gray. These shades can be found on eyes, lips, and nails.

AU NATURALE

Not ready to tweeze or wax your brows again? No need to worry – the natural brow trend carries over from winter to spring this year. Don’t use this as an excuse to stop grooming them, though – you still need to use a fine-toothed brow comb and a bit of clear gel to keep them looking nice.

A pale pink gloss, shimmery beige shadow, and a classic French manicure completes the natural look. A flawless complexion is a must for this look, so fake it with a tinted moisturizer and loose powder, if you have to. Not a fan of fake things? Guzzle plenty of water and eat your fruits and vegetables to keep skin looking its best.

Spring is a time of change, of transformation. Use this season to try things you never thought you’d do, from bright lips to natural brows. Whatever you decide to do, you’re going to be beautiful. And no, your mom didn’t tell us to say that.

The prime motive of this page is to act as a rough guide in order to judge the approximate cost of liposuction. While considering any liposuction surgeries, the liposuction cost is an imperative aspect. Before undergoing the liposuction surgery under the professional guidance of a quality surgeon, you would definitely like to get a clear cut estimate of how much it will cost you.

The accurate information about the cost of liposuction given in this liposuction prices guide will be of great assistance for everyone and everywhere, you want to get the liposuction surgery performed.

Factors affecting Cost of Liposuction

Not many people are aware of this fact that how much a liposuction surgery will cost them, so if you are planning to undergo liposuction surgery then you would want to know the estimated cost of this surgery to get a shapely and curvaceous body. There are mainly five factors which affect the cost of liposuction surgery anywhere around the world. Let us check out what these factors are:

Surgeon’s fees constitute almost 30% of the cost of liposuction and the surgeon with more experience will charge more fees.

Anaesthesiologists’ fee is also 10% of the total cost of liposuction.

Hospital expenses including the fee of nursing and acre along with the operating room expenses.

Pre and post medication also forms almost 5% of the total cost of liposuction.

Some additional charges are of the assistant surgeon and the cost of diagnostic tests which are conducted before and after the liposuction surgery.

Variations in liposuction costs depending on various factors

There are several factors which influence the cost of liposuction like the number of areas which are treated through liposuction, the kind of areas treated by the surgery of liposuction, the quantity of fat that has to be removed from the site, etc. All these factors are just few which influence the total cost of liposuction, but it is usually found that if we get treated more area or body site in one session the cost of liposuction diminishes with increasing body area. The reason being it is easier to treat larger body area together, than working on small areas in sections.

Quantity of fat depositions to be removed also effect the cost of liposuction: It has been found that more the amount of fat cells needed to be removed higher the cost of liposuction. Both have directly proportional relation as when more fat has to be removed the surgeons have to work more and liposuction is not an easy task to perform. It has been found that most of the time the liposuction is done by people who are overweight or due to some health related problem, so the amount of fat removal is usually more in such cases, which causes increase in cost of liposuction.

Higher cost in Male liposuction than females: Since it is easier to remove fat from female body than from a male body, the cost automatically increases in case of male patients. The reason being the fat in male body is tougher and fibrous which takes time to get removed and moreover the body area of men is comparatively larger than females. This results in higher liposuction costs in case of males than in females.

Where would you get the liposuction done: This will also have effect on the cost of liposuction as the fees of the surgeon vary in different parts of the world and it mainly depends upon the cost of living in that country. But this does not have any relation to the fact that cheaper liposuction surgery will be worst and the most expensive one will be the best. There is no relation between cost of liposuction and quality of liposuction. Different surgeons have different charges and fees for liposuction surgery.

Kind of anaesthesia: the kind of surgery technique is related directly to the types of anaesthesia you would be given. Like in case of Tumescent technique just local anaesthesia is required. While in case of ultrasound and vibration techniques of liposuction general anaesthesia is needed. Local anaesthesia does not require anaesthesiologist while in case of general anaesthesia you need an anaesthesiologist, thus the cost of liposuction in case of ultrasound and vibration technique increases as compared to Tumescent technology.

Areas to be worked upon while liposuction: Cost of liposuction varies according to the body area where liposuction is needed. Like in case of liposuction from just stomach will cost more than getting liposuction done on stomach and buttocks which will be lesser?

Questions you must ask from the Liposuction Surgeon before surgery

While calculating the cost, do keep the above points in mind and when you finalise the liposuction surgeon do ask him following questions related to cost. Do not feel hesitant in making clarifications about the related costs and how you can lower the budget of liposuction.

Ask him about how many areas will be covered during liposuction?

What kind of techniques like tumescent, ultrasound, vibration etc. will be sued by him? What is the difference between the costs of surgery in using each technique?

Ask him what kind of anaesthesia will be required by you; local or general anaesthesia?

For how many days will you be hospitalized and what will be the hospital expenses?

What would be the consultation fees of the surgeon?

After asking all these questions you would be able to get an estimate of the cost of liposuction and remember to include your travelling expenses, transportation cost and accommodation expenses in the final cost of liposuction. You should ask the doctor, how does he count the areas of liposuction to arrive at the real cost. Some surgeons treat upper and lower abdomen as two different regions and hips and waist also as separate areas.

Cost Saving Techniques for liposuction

If you get liposuction done on per body site basis you can definitely save some amount in the cost of liposuction. You can get liposuction done on lesser areas or on just one body site.

Go for test drive first; this will give you the benefit of paying as you go. Mostly the surgeons do the second surgery at a bit lesser price for their repeat patients.

Some patients go for liposuction financing too or cosmetic surgery financing which helps in getting huge amount from financial institution, but it is not recommended as in the long run it adds up in paying more from your pocket.

Instead you can use credit card cash advances which will prove to be less expensive. But before choosing to go into debt for undergoing liposuction like luxury think twice.

Know about the various cost saving liposuction techniques to lower your cost of liposuction surgery like always remember that Ultrasonic liposuction is costlier, as additional expensive instruments are needed for performing it. Another better option is that avoid laser treatments which are also a bit expensive. It has been found that basic conventional procedure for liposuction is costlier than laser treatments. So why not save some money by going for laser liposuction for improved body contouring and enhance the image of your body.

Moreover laser liposuction has an additional benefit of no incision surgery, so no major healing is needed, so get back to work quickly and pay lower cost for liposuction surgery. Thus make your boss as well as your wallet happy along with yourself with those perfect curves.

Wrinkles are a part of ageing but not many of us are happy to embrace it- and of course the social demands of looking young and beautiful dominates this negative feeling we have about wrinkles. A lot of factors contribute towards the formation of wrinkles and stress, pollution, demands of the fast paced modern life all plays an important part. With all of us desperate to look eternally young and gorgeous, we are always trying to find a solution to our concerns. The advancement of cosmetic science and technology has proved to a boon for the multitude of men and women who refuse to grow old. The easy availability of the fillers and the injectables are offering more than just a quick fix and the results achieved are simply overwhelming.

The cosmetic market is flooded with options to choose from when it comes to looking younger. With promises to never dry out the fountain of youth, the market has indeed become very competitive. All of them vouches to give a smooth, glowing skin in no time they actually works wonder for you- restoring your youthfulness in no time at all. Both fillers and injectable treatments have gained popularity with both the sexes and it has become more of a personal preferences which one to go for. They are all derma friendly and there are no chances of any allergic reaction. However, there is some basic differences between the fillers and the injectibles and lets a quick look on how each scores.

Differences between the Injectibles and the Fillers

Knowing the differences between the two will surely help you decide better and of course be better informed about the procedure to choose for yourself. Putting it simply, the most common injectables are Botox and Restylane that are injected into the skin and they numb the specific area. They tend to numb the muscles in the area making it flexed and thus preventing the wrinkles. The entire procedure is fast and can be completed only in a few minutes. Most importantly, the results are instant and the achieved results last for 4-6 months. With absolutely no need of anesthesia, you will just feel the pin pricks of the ultra fine needles only for a fraction of second.

Botox is the most popular choice when it comes to injectables. It is a purified protein that works wonders to reduce or completely eliminates crow’s feet, frown lines, creases in the forehead and even the deep creases of the neck. However, as Botox works by numbing the muscle sensation of a particular area, the lines reappear with regular activity in the area. The procedure is completely safe and there have been no negative feedbacks as such, though Botox is not recommended to breastfeeding mothers and even to expecting women.

Restylane works well on the deep wrinkles that are stubborn as well. It is a gel like formula that is injected in the dermis layers of the skin and the results received are simply excellent. Restylane has hyaluronic acid as its primary ingredients, which occurs naturally in the unman body- so chances of allergy while using the product can be alleviated. This acid is produced in large quantities in the when in the younger ages, but as we age the natural production of the acid diminishes and wrinkles begin to appear on the skin. The Restylane works well on the area like the frown lines on the forehead, crow’s feet, laugh lines and the deep creases in the neck.

There are other choices in injectables like the Hylaform, which is a purified form of avian hyaluronic acid that is similar in composition to the natural hyaluronic acid produced in the body. Microlipid injections too are a great choice and considered to the safest form of injectables as the fat is taken from the body of the concerned individual and thus eliminating the chances of allergy.

Dermal Filler as the Option

Popularly called the liquid facelift, dermal filler is the best choice when it comes to pumping up your lips and look the dive. They are a great choice when it comes of softening the facial creases and even they are a great choice with excessive sagging skin. The popular choices remain Juvederm, Artefill or Artecoll as known in the United States and Radiesse. These are comparatively low cost and involve lesser risks than the surgery. However, for all these products, the results achieved are excellent, though they are temporary and will involve regular maintenance. Of all the above mentioned products the best choice remains the Artefill because of its unique composition containing polymethyllethacrylate that are almost semi permanent and are not readily absorbed by the skin.

Procedures Involved in Both

Before you jump headlong into the surgery, it is important to know how the entire thing will be carried out on you. Looking for the right doctor is without doubt a crucial and a daunting task. Start by asking your family and friends if they have anyone in mind or undergone similar procedures themselves. It is important that your doctor takes into account all the details including your past medical history. You must also have a very realistic expectation about the outcome of the surgery and the results achieved. You skins and all your concerns will be taken into account before the surgery is finalized.

There are possibilities that a local anesthesia is used to numb the area and alleviate the pain and then the fillers and the injectables are used. A photograph is also taken so that you know of the changes after the surgery and is also kept as a record. You will also be updated about all the aftercare procedures and details of pain killers if you need any. The injected material will be a bit thick and so might be a bit painful while it is being injected- however, the pain does not last long. Antibacterial agents are used to ensure that there are no chances of infection. You will have to bear a few minutes of discomfort and then you are ready to look like the diva.

Results to be Expected

Some redness and swelling will be there, which will subside after a few hours and bruises after a few days. There is no downtime of these treatments and you can resume your normal life right after they are done. Some common complications like bleeding, acne, sensitivity, rash, temporary numbness, itching may be noticed after the treatment.

The cost of the treatment will depend upon a number of factors, though both the processes are temporary and maintenance is recommended every 4-6 months.

Migraine headaches are a very common problem faced by many in every part of the world. Before trying to identify the ways and means of treating this particular problem it is essential for us to understand the problem and its causative agents. Then we can concentrate on what exactly Botox is and how many doctors use Botox to treat migraine headaches. It is necessary to do so because if one does not know the root of the problem one will never be able to understand that whether the means they are taking are correct or not. Let us try and find out more about these things in the following paragraphs.

What is a migraine?
A typical bout of migraine is a piercing headache which can leave one completely motionless and weak for hours. Like most of the chronic medical diseases like cancer and diabetes, physicians can only guess what causes migraines and how far the use of Botox to treat migraine headaches is effective remains to be seen based on experiments and their results. It has been speculated that the splitting migraine headaches are caused by some problems of the nerve cells of the brain. Some difficulty of the blood vessels also causes migraine. Migraine pains are awful and can be very troublesome hindering one’s day to day activities. There are mainly three different kinds of migraine. The most common type is the first one which is not accompanied before or after by any sort of aura. By aura here I mean some disillusionment and visual disturbances caused by a sudden burst of light. This kind of migraine pains occur and recur as well. The classical type, that is, our second type is a kind which is preceded by an aura. These can be very painful and the pain is blinding. The third type is perhaps the most painful one. The pain lasts for a long time, whereas the general span of time for a common migraine headache is a minimum of four hours to a maximum of seventy two hours. Though the use of Botox to treat migraine headaches is yet to be properly documented and scientifically proven, any treatment which gives relief from the migraine pain is welcome.

What is Botox?
Now, that we know about the basics of migraine let us proceed further to the type of treatment recommended. The use of Botox to treat migraine headaches has been found through experiments to be extremely helpful. Basically Botox is a short name for a protein called botulinum toxin A. The bacterium from which it is derived is called Clostridium botulinum. This bacterium in large doses is known to cause a terrible case of food poisoning. So it has to be administered within the system in very small and dilute doses to avoid complications of any sort. This is basically a cosmetic drug and is used mainly by doctors to treat signs of ageing mostly like wrinkles and loose skin. The Botox injection is used to make the facial region wrinkle free and uplift the skin of the face. An interesting study conducted by a certain medical group found that when the Botox injection was given to the facial region for curing the problem of wrinkles it gave relief to those who were suffering from the problem of migraine headaches. Thus by chance and experiments the use of Botox to treat migraine headaches was found.

The role of Botox in treating migraines
The use of Botox to treat migraine headaches is yet to be confirmed on a medical basis but it has been found time and again that this medicine provides a sure shot way of getting rid of the pain of migraine for a certain period of time. The injection has to be given in various muscles of the face and multiple doses are necessary. The muscles of the eyebrows, the eyes and the neck and the forehead are the most effective and commonly used areas for applying the injection of Botulinum Toxin A. Once this injection is applied the migraine pain for sure subsides. This relief can be for a few days up to as long as six months. There is a specific amount of dose which needs to be applied and at certain intervals. This amount of dose and the interval has to be done properly because if anything goes wrong in the calculations it can prove to be detrimental for the person undergoing the treatment. The injection definitely decreases the rate of occurrence of the migraine pain. It however does not go away completely and does recur after a certain period of time. Thus the use of Botox to treat migraine headaches is definitely a temporary one.

The limitation of this cure
The biggest hindrance of the use of Botox is that it is not a permanent measure. It gives relief true but then again the pain comes back after a definite period of time, depending on the kind of migraine one has. Another equally pressing factor is the cost of the whole treatment. The use of Botox to treat migraine headaches can prove to be a very expensive way indeed. The price of one dose of the protein is approximately about $350. As mentioned earlier, one dose is not enough. Various doses are necessary for curbing the problem of migraines for a few months. The cost of the treatment of migraine with the help of Botox injection is also not applicable under the terms and conditions of any medical insurance and thus it becomes all the more difficult for a common man to afford such a costly treatment. The use of nasal sprays and other prescribed medicines, which come at a lesser price, can also be used to treat the problem of migraines. However the plus point of Botox over the sprays and medicines are that it acts for a longer period of time. Apart from that there are some side effects also. The eyelids droop due to the administration of the doses. Botox is mainly used to treat chronic migraines. It is not that effective when one suddenly gets an attack. Other prescribed drugs and nasal sprays do the work then and nothing else. In totality, the use of Botox to treat migraine headaches is a temporary yet costly method.

The Botulinum Toxin A or Botox is a FDA approved way of treating chronic migraines. Though no biological dissection of this method has been done so far on this, this method is purely an abstract one based on chance and experimentation. The result Botox has varies from patient to patient. This is a way of subsiding the pain for a long period of time. Like all medicines this too has side effects which is again varies from patient to patient. It is truly a wonder how a bacterium which causes so bad a case of food poisoning can cure such a troublesome problem like migraine which is seen in almost three fourths of the population. The results of the experiment that have been conducted and observed show that the use of Botox to treat migraine headaches is a very effective method resulting in about a success rate of eighty out of hundred. This makes the medicine all the more useful.

With fall fast approaching, it’s that time of year when we need to give our make-up bags an update. Our easy breezy summer time make-up took on more of an on-the-go status as the months went on. It’s time to polish it up a bit.

This fall is moody and edgy with a twist of natural beauty stuck right in the middle. Full natural brows frame metallic eye shadows while long lean lashes bring on the glam. Red lips and deep blue nails lend to the edginess of fall’s look.

Eyes
Brows take on a more natural look this season from the past year or so. We’ve had thinner more defined and sculpted brows in recent past. This is good news for those ladies with naturally thick brows. No need to endure the pain of waxing and tweezing this season. For those with naturally thin brows, it may be time to invest in a good brow powder or liner to fill them in.

Eye shadow statements are vastly different this season. From very edgy metallic, smoky eyes to very light and natural with minimal eye shadow. However, long luscious lashes are very much a must with either look. We have seen thick lashes in past seasons, but this seasons lashes are long and lean, almost spiky. False is in for sure!

Skin & Hair
Smooth glowing skin is always in no matter what the season or time of year. This fall, hold on to your summer tan that you worked hard all summer to get. Fading a little faster than you would like? Spray tans have come a long way. Not just for the Jersey Shore types anymore, spray tans are all the rage. With different levels of shades you will not have to worry about looking orange anymore.

Hair takes on 3 big trends this fall. Braids worn to the side, feathers and big loose curls will be seen. Braids were very popular this summer and have made it in to another season. They can be worn in a variety of ways – long down your back or bangs braided to the side. One of the most popular is the loosely braided hair swept to the side with an, ‘oh I didn’t even try to do that’ flair.

Feathers are back from the 70’s and 80’s in the form of hair accessories. Feathers come in all different colors and sizes. Colors from bold and bright to earthy and rich can be seen as well as big and long or skinny to blend in a little. It all depends on your personal style. They can be clipped in, worn from earrings or bonded to your hair for a more permanent look.

Big curls are back baby! Big voluminous curls are all the rage. Try using a curl enhancing shampoo to help promote curl. Then use a volume boosting styling mousse through damp hair. Blow dry using a large round brush until it’s completely dry. Using a large barrel curling iron, like a 1 ½ to a 2 inch barrel. Curl hair in 2 inch sections. Once you have curled your entire head, spray with a flexible hold hairspray and then use your fingers to pull curls loose or if you have thicker hair use a big brush to pull them loose.

Nails
Blue nails are a big trend showing up on many celebrities from Christina Aguilera to Victoria Beckham. Blue polish runs from very pale to very dark and metallic or sparkly in between. This fashion statement may not be for everyone though. Picking the right shade of blue for your skin tone is tricky.

Darker shades of blue are generally more flattering to more women. Choose a midnight blue and you probably can’t go wrong. For fairer skin ladies, a milky light blue will in most cases not flatter so test a few first before buying. This trend is where medium to dark skinned women will be able to play with the blues a little more as most will be flattering.

Be careful as to when you wear your blue polish. Job interviews may be out as well as dinner with the conservative in-laws. If you work in a very conservative law office, for instance, blue may need to be very dark and muted or just skip it altogether and save it for the weekend. Everywhere else is anything goes!

The natural or nude colors are also still holding over from summer into fall. These colors are good against any skin color. Pale pinks, off white’s or taupe’s and even pale blues can be just as fun as going completely wild. These colors can be frustrating to apply, so be sure to use a good basecoat first.

Keep nails short, neat and well manicured as these color trends are sure to draw attention to your hands. No one will be impressed by your being on trend when they see chipped nail polish and rough looking cuticles. Don’t forget your toes either! The weather may be changing, but you can still wear shoes to show off your blue or pale pink toes.

Lips
Red lips are all the rage and will most likely stay through winter. We haven’t seen them since around 2009. The red vampy lips are back with a vengeance. Say goodbye to the neutral tones we’ve grown to love and say hello to red!

Before you run out and buy the first red lipstick you see, take note that this is a very bold statement. Choose wisely as this should not be taken lightly. Not all reds are created equal. Just as not all skin tones are created the same. More pale and dewy skin types cannot wear the same deep red that a more mahogany skinned woman can.

Fair skin looks best with this red lip look. That porcelain skin loves red lipstick. It almost craves it! So for you fair girls, choose a lip color that is more to the coral side of red. You can also venture into the blue reds, but be careful not to get too crazy or you may end up looking like you belong in a vampire blockbuster.

Medium toned ladies will do well with true red and maybe even a red that tends towards the pink side. If you have a yellow base in your skin, you can maybe pull off a bluer red. You just may not be able to jump into the burgundies. Unless you have a tendency to pull a little more blue in your skin-tone, brick reds or blue reds may be something to avoid.

Darker toned women of color will have fun with this season’s red lip trend. You already know that this color looks awesome on you! Stick with your deep burgundy and brick reds, but deep plums are out for now. You will have plenty to choose from in the red department to help you forget the plums anyway.

With red lips we need to remember that heavily lined lips are out. Unless, however, you are using a matching lip liner to the red you have chosen. Because red look best on voluptuous lips, a girl with less than a pouty mouth will need to line around the outer edge of her lip line. You will also want to fill in the bottom lip with liner before applying lipstick. These both will give the illusion of a fuller, more pin-up girl look.

To be on trend this fall choose the right blue for your nails and the right red for your lips. Hair is big and glammed up with loose curls or pulled over in a braid to the side. Big spiky lashes and metallic shadows or not. Channel your inner Boho chic with feathers or your Bridgette Bardot with scarlet red lips and big curls. From super glam pin-up girl to natural woman – this fall can be edgy or laid back.

Plastic Surgery or Liposuction can help you in getting the perfect chiselled look on your face or any other part of the body. But before you go under the knife, you must choose the best plastic surgeon that can make your dream come true. Plastic Surgeon is the person who will determine whether the end result will be as desired or not and you will get the look you are aspiring for or not. There are few pointers which you should keep in mind before undergoing a plastic surgery and choosing a plastic surgeon.

1. The first and foremost thing before picking a plastic surgeon is to find out his accreditations and confirm them. The most vital accreditation which an expert plastic surgeon must possess is from American Board of Plastic Surgery. This certification cannot be gained easily it requires great deal of practical experience in the field of surgery and few essential qualifications are needed to get certified from this board. Not just passing extensive written and oral exams gets them this certification, they need to practice 4-5 years of general residency and do surgery. Then there is 2 years of plastic surgery training which is imparted to them. Thereafter they will be given recommendation and in the end they will be granted the board certification. So choose a plastic surgeon with stature from consumer watchdog organizations and authentic accreditations.

2. Just the certificates and the accreditations do not prove that the plastic surgeon has desired surgical expertise to give you a nice experience all through your life. So verification from the past patients is also mandatory. Just don’t get flattered by the degrees and certificates hanging on the wall of the clinic hear it from the earlier patients by doing referral checks from the referral lists of earlier patients of the surgeon. Good Plastic Surgeons are well known and renowned in their area so by asking your friends and family also you can locate or find a good plastic surgeon.

3. Confirmation of the credentials is also very important, as some of them might be fake ones. Thus, proper authentication from the various sources is also important. This will help in checking any negative information or legal actions being faced by the surgeon. There are various ways by which you can substantiate whether the credentials are real or not.

Go to the website of American Board of Plastic surgeons at www.certificationmatters.org or visit their site www.plasticsurgery.org , they will help in authentication of the certificates of the plastic surgeon.

If you want to get substantial proof about the facility where the surgeons do the surgery then do visit the site www.jointcommision.org . Here you can get all the valuable information about the facility form the Joint Commission on accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

The best way to find out the malpractice or any legal actions against the surgeon is to search on internet by the plastic surgeons name and you will find all the information about the doctor good or bad listed in internet.

You can also check the official website of State Medical Board to confirm whether the doctor is an authorised to practice medicine or not. Same way you can do the authentication check about the doctor’s anaesthesia skills by calling American Board of Anaesthesiology at (919)881-2570.

4. Next thing which counts a lot is good hands on experience in the field of surgery. The more extensive the scope of experience the doctor has the more reliable the doctor becomes in that field. There are few plastic surgeons that specialise in particular and specific plastic surgery jobs like some are skilled in doing nose-job, so for a nose correction surgery it would be better that you choose plastic surgeon with vast experience in this field only.

Thus you must know the difference between the board certified plastic surgeon and board certified cosmetic surgeon before you start looking for one. A genuine plastic surgeon is the one with a board certified plastic surgeon accreditation, while a cosmetic surgeon can be skilled in various other jobs too like dermatologist, oral surgeon, ENT etc. You would never want to undergo a surgery of your face or any other body part from an ENT or your dermatologist, right?

5. Choosing the right plastic surgeon is a daunting task, so take your time and be patient while picking the best one which suits your needs. After checking or talking to a number of plastic surgeons, zero –in on at least three best which fit your bill and needs. Then fix personal appointment with all three of them.

6.	Ask for free consultation from all three of them to pick the genuine and right one. While going for an interview with the doctors, be well prepared. There should be at least 5 most important questions like :

What is your success rate in the particular surgery I want you to do?

Where will you do the surgery and the medical facility is certified or not?

What are the options of anaesthesia available and who will administer the dosage of anaesthesia?

What are your certifications and who will assist you in the surgery?

How much time will it take for the surgery to heal and I am the ideal candidate to undergo such surgery or not?

7.	Discuss your goals and expectations by spending quality time with the plastic surgeon before undergoing the surgery. A good plastic surgeon will clearly tell you all the pros and cons about the plastic surgery and how will it work on you. He will be loyal to you in discussing all the future benefits and negatives that might arise after surgery. He will tell you each and every detail about the surgical procedure in layman language and will brief you everything about the after-care too. If you face any communication problems with the surgeon you better discuss with him or look for another one.

8. While choosing a plastic surgeon just the accreditation and the experience is not all that matters, what matters is trust and matching personality. The surgeon should have the proper aesthetic sense too so that yours and his tastes tone with each other for best outcomes.

9.	Website of the doctor you are planning to pick are the best way to find out reliable and genuine information. Here you will find all the legitimate information about the credentials, experience, reviews and legal aspects about the surgeon. Do not forget to see the before and after pictures on the website before deciding upon the surgeon.

10.	Do not get lured by special offers and deals mentioned by the plastic surgeons, usually the doctors who offer such deals are not the best ones. So, it would be better that you avoid such doctors.

Considering all the above listed pointers and guidelines you can choose the best plastic surgeon who can give you your dream look with best experience. All you need is verification of credentials, past referrals, thorough research about the work done by him in the past and then smartly choose the one which fits your desired criteria by fixing a personal appointment with him. Do not forget that taking your own time before finalizing and doing your home work well before choosing a plastic surgeon is most important to avoid any future problems or bad experiences in life.
