Ultimate Liquid Facelift
With age comes wisdom and perspective that most of us wouldn’t trade for anything. But it also brings wrinkles, brown spots and sagging skin that can take a toll on our self-esteem and turn mirrors into the enemy. Sure, surgery is an option, but an “ultimate liquid face lift” removes the fear and expense of invasive procedures while delivering dramatic anti-aging results.
What is a liquid face lift?
Simply put, a liquid face lift is a combination of techniques that work in harmony to reveal the younger-looking skin you remember. The innovative treatment regime perfected by Dr. Peers includes skin resurfacing, soft tissue fillers and wrinkle paralyzers like Botox™. As a result, droopy areas on the cheeks and around the mouth are significantly plumped, restoring a fullness that mimics the essential fat layer lost as we get older. The liquid face lift gets its name from the fact that while the effects are remarkable, they stem mostly from liquid-based products rather than a scalpel.
Why fat loss matters
Oh, the irony. Many people see cosmetic surgeons to remove fat from their bodies, but when it comes to aging skin, fat is our friend. Wrinkles and sagging skin are the obvious signs that we’re getting older, so it’s natural to assume that a nip and tuck to tighten skin is the optimal solution. In fact, the hidden culprit behind many signs of aging is actually fat loss. Think about the full cheeks and wrinkle-free appearance you associate with a “baby face.” What’s the difference between those baby faces and older faces? Fat! A youthful face needs plumpness, which is exactly what a liquid face lift provides.
The full liquid face lift
There are only three simple steps involved in a full liquid face lift, but the effects—smooth, supple skin—can be dramatic. And the best part is that the professionals at Peers Cosmetic achieve these turn-back-the-clock results without invasive surgery.
- Step 1: Skin resurfacing. We begin with skin resurfacing, also known as a laser peel. This powerful anti-aging technique targets fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots, skin discoloration, uneven skin texture and old acne scars. Skin resurfacing has been around for a while, but laser technology has advanced tremendously in the last decade, so patients see substantial improvement after each of the two or three recommended treatments.
- Step 2: Injectable dermal fillers or sculptra aesthetic. After skin resurfacing has worked its magic on fine lines, we use injectable dermal fillers like Radiesse™ and Juvederm™ to add volume to specific areas of the face. These multi-purpose fillers deliver newfound fullness to the nasal labial folds (the lines running from your nose to your mouth), lips, cheeks, jowls (marionette lines) and other areas. Or our newest technique: Sculptra Aesthetic. Not an overnight miracle. Not a quick-fix. The first facial injectable gives you subtle results over time by replacing lost collagen. A full treatment of Sculptra Aesthetic is an average of three injection sessions over a few months and can last up to two years.
- Step 3: Botox. Neurotoxins like Botox (and the relatively new Dysport™) have been the gold standard in reversing signs of aging for so long because they work. That’s why the last step in the liquid face lift includes using Botox to relax frown lines, crows’ feet, bunny lines and lip lines. Thanks to celebrities who overdose on Botox and begin sporting a decidedly frozen look, new patients usually have the same question: Will I look like a figure in a wax museum? The answer is no. Botox and other products in the wrinkle relaxer family are completely safe and look remarkably natural when applied by experts like Dr. Peers.
Both Botox and injectable dermal fillers are used in a liquid face lift because they help each other work more effectively. Without Botox, the dermal fillers used to plump expression lines can break down more quickly because surrounding muscles are called into service more frequently. But with Botox as the final step, you get fewer muscle contractions and a longer-lasting liquid face lift.
What are the immediate results?
A full liquid face lift can be completed in four office visits over the course of about three months. However, you’ll notice significant improvement after each visit. The proof is in the mirror, which we gladly hand you right away. As more steps are added and as your body makes new collegen in response to the techniques used at Peers Cosmetic, you’ll continue to see younger-looking skin emerge for the next three to six weeks. There is a couple days of social downtime for the laser skin resurfacing.
Am I a good candidate for a liquid face lift?
A liquid face lift is ideal for men and women who want more youthful skin without invasive procedures. It’s important to understand that the technique is not designed to give patients the same results as a traditional face lift. What is does accomplish is a restoration of smooth, plump features that have been affected by fat loss over time. Ideal candidates have good skin texture and elasticity, don’t smoke and are in overall good mental and physical health. Patient ages range from mid-30s on up, though the right time to seek treatment is whenever you want to rediscover the skin of your youth.
